CW Awards 2015: Consultant of the Year honoured
Well-known consultant Aecom awarded at the prestigious Construction Week Awards 2015
Aecom was awarded the Consultant of the Year at the Construction Week Awards 2015 held on Wednesday, 9 December at InterContinental – Dubai Festival City.
From the award-winning Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi to the transformational storm water drainage program in Jeddah, KSA, Aecom has used designs, technology and program management expertise to help their clients see and go further.
The award was accepted on behalf of Aecom by: chief executive – Middle East, David Barwell; managing director UAE and executive vice president – Middle East, Riad Nashif; and chief operating officer and executive vice president – Middle East, Hamad Zaghw.
Commenting on the win, Barwell told Construction Week: "It feels fantastic to be named Consultant of the Year for 2015. This reflects greatly on the entire Aecom team; on the hard work that they have put in across the Middle East.
"This has been a tough year for our industry. Some projects have gone ahead well, whilst others have slowed. But everybody at Aecom has remained focused. We've been working extremely hard for our clients and contractors," he explained.
Looking forward to next year, Nashif added: "I think 2016 will be even more challenging for the Middle East's construction sector. Nevertheless, Aecom's diversity allows our team to take advantage of global connections in order to [compensate for] challenging market conditions in this region. In turn, other parts of Aecom can connect to us. This is an advantage that not many of our competitors have – the ability to connect at a global level."
"There will be even more of a focus on project delivery [in 2016]," concluded Zaghw. "The more we improve the quality and consistency of the services we deliver to our clients, the more we can strengthen our position in the market and expand our business. I cannot over-emphasise the importance of project delivery for Aecom."
This year’s highly commended consultant was Atkins.
