Two nuclear laboratories were inaugurated in Sharjah on 14 December.

HH Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of University of Sharjah, opened the labs, and also toured the facilities.

The laboratories are part of the Nuclear Energy Department at the university.

The $3.2m (AED12m) labs are approved by the UAE's Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR).

According to state agency WAM, the Ministry of Energy will supervise both laboratories.
