Dubai Motor City set for 5,000sqm Autodrome park

Dubai Autodrome and Union Properties will also develop 11 units at The Retail Plaza, besides 13 units at the planned motorsport business park

Dubai Autodrome and Union Properties are working together on the development of a business park and retail units at Dubai Motor City. 

Their collaboration includes the development of a motor sport business park, which will cater to racing teams and related businesses keen to locate to the venue which in turn attracts a dedicated clientele which they can tap into.

The planned 5,000 sqm facility will comprise of 13 units ranging in size from 200 sqm to 420 sqm, and will be situated in the existing P2 car park area.

The building will overlook the main circuit pit exit. 

The Retail Plaza at Motor City, located in the grandstand area of Dubai Autodrome, is also being prepared to accomodate 11 retail units overlooking the start and finish straight of the circuit and encompassing a large outdoor terrace in which merchants can operate their businesses. 

Ryan Trutch, special projects manager at Dubai Autodrome, said: "Motor City community has become a hive of activity over the past few years.

"Through the development, enhancement and expansion of our facilities we aim to further increase the business and leisure attraction in and around Dubai Autodrome and Kartdrome."

Trutch added Autodrome expects F&B outlets, cafés and motor related businesses to open at the facility within a few months.

"We expect that the grandstand area will become a destination for social entertainment and F&B outlets," he added. 

Across the boulevard from the main track, the Kartdrome will continue to be developed with plans in place to further enhance the facility for kart owners and Arrive & Drive customers.

Also in the pipeline is the construction of a corporate enclosure, above the pit bays, overlooking the main straight adjacent to the existing pits complex. 

Richard Birch, general manager of Dubai Autodrome, said: "Dubai is a constantly evolving city, with benchmark international standard sports facilities aimed at catering admirably for the city's residents as well as attracting tourists from around the globe.

"Our objective is to deliver projects to the highest standards as we continue to always raise our game to the highest level, with the goal of being a prime location for automotive and motorsport events as well as business in the build-up, and during, the forthcoming  Expo 2020."
