Empower builds $4.9m storage facility in Dubai
The 7,100m2 building is designed to store parts and accessories related to district cooling
Empower has completed the construction of a AED18m ($4.9m) central store facility in Al Quoz Industrial area, Dubai.
The 7,100m2 building, which is aiming for LEED certification, is designed to store parts and accessories related to district cooling.
The project was completed six months ahead of the schedule, says Empower, and includes storage facilities on ground and mezzanine floors, office space, gantry crane, loading/unloading area, chemical drum storage facility and others.
“We are delighted to construct this green building, as we are keen to implement the long-term national initiative ‘Green Economy for Sustainable Development’ launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to empower sustainable development in Dubai,” said HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, chief executive officer of Empower. “The new facility is designed to conserve electricity and water consumption.”
“In line with the broad expansion, we are working toward the goal of extending district cooling services on a larger scale in the region. The central store facility is a world-class repository that follows green standards. We have decided to do this following expanded operations following higher demand, which requires us to regulate the process of supplying materials to our projects across Dubai.”
