MAG to build 7.5ha Dubai Healthcare City project
WorldCare Wellness Village in Healthcare City Phase 2 will be the world's largest wellness centre upon completion
A wellness centre, touted to be the world's largest, will be constructed at Dubai Healthcare City in the city's Jadaf area.
WorldCare Wellness Village will cover 7.52ha (810,000 sqf) on a 8.36ha (900,000 sqf) plot in in the healthcare cluster's Phase 2 expansion.
State agency WAM reported the concept will be driven by US based WorldCare International, and developed by Dubai's MAG Group.
Healthcare City's Phase 2 expansion spans 204ha (22 million sqf).
Dr Raja Al Gurg, vice-chairperson and executive director of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, remarked: "We are confident that Phase 2 will drive wellness tourism together with medical tourism, boosting Dubai’s diversified economy.
"It will bring together unique wellness concepts and specialised services, such as rehabilitation, counseling, sports medicine and elderly care for both residents and visitors."
WorldCare Wellness Village will be anchored by a 100,000 square feet Wellness Center that will focus on prevention and management of diseases.
The Village will also comprise spaces for residential villas and apartments, and rental units for long-term stay.
