The UAE’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently awarded Imdaad second place in the Environmental Protection category at the 8th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST).

DAST’s panel of judges attributed Imdaad’s win to the IFM provider’s sustainability and environmental protection programmes, particularly those focused on its 200-strong fleet of waste management vehicles in Dubai.

These included initiatives geared toward air, noise and material reduction, the utilisation of biodiesel as an alternative fuel, as well optimisation of its fleet management

Imdaad was also recognised for deploying eco-friendly equipment and prioritising sustainability across its projects and activities.

The IFM provider regularly hosts recycling training programmes for clients and corporate partners, and also provides recycling bins to specific projects where delivers waste management services.

Commenting on the accolade, Jamal Abdullah Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said: “Our RTA-DAST award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to contribute to the government’s environmental sustainability and protection initiatives.”

He added: “Our programs have led to many milestones and positive results, further inspiring us to create more innovative ideas.”

Over the years, the IFM provider has been a key factor in the development of environmental sustainability within the nation’s facilities management industry.

Imdaad was one of the first companies to be awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 (Environmental Management) certificate as early as 2006.
