The UAE is know for its residential developments, since it bounced back from the financial crisis in 2008-09.

There has been quite a strong surge in the supply of new residential projects in the country, with investors/buyers lapping them up on the launch days itself.

Construction Week takes a look at some of the residential projects scheduled to be completed in 2016.

1. Manazel Al Khor by Dubai Properties Group

Manazel Al Khor, the luxury residential project overlooking the Dubai Creek, and being developed by Dubai Properties (DP), is currently nearing 70% completion.

The development progress is on schedule and set for handover during the summer of 2016.

Manazel Al Khor is located at the heart of Dubai and inspired by the UAE’s local architecture.

Its contemporary design encompasses 98 residential units ranging from one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments offering views of the Dubai Creek, in addition to amenities for a modern-day luxurious lifestyle, and commercial and retail spaces.

2. The Pad by Omniyat

The Pad is a 24-storey Miami-inspired tower project designed to offer stylish living and amazing views in Dubai’s Business Bay.

The building comprises 253 fully automated and furnished residences, a pool, a gymnasium, and open garden spaces.

Located at the waterfront in the heart of Business Bay, the project is a stone’s throw away from the world’s tallest building, Emaar’s Burj Khalifa.

Tilted at a 6.5° angle and enveloped in LED lighting to embody the concept of ‘living in the future’, the project boasts 11 studio units, 178 one-bedroom units (of which nine are garden apartments on the podium level), 42 two-bedroom units, and 22 loft apartments, ranging from studios to two-bedroom residences.

3. Sustainable City by Diamond Developers

Located in Dubailand on Al Qudra Road, The Sustainable City is a practical implementation of social, economic and environmental sustainability.

In the first phase, Diamond Developers will see the construction of five residential clusters of 100 villas each, a community mall, a central green spine, an equestrian centre, horse, bicycle, walking and jogging tracks.

The second phase comprises an eco-resort, a country club, a green school, a science museum and the sustainability centre of excellence.

TSC, which is spread over 46ha, will have a population of 2,700 residents. It is a 20-minute drive to both Al Maktoum International Airport and the Burj Al Arab Hotel.

4. Dreamz by Danube

The project, which was launched in June 2014, comprises 171 townhouse villas, and is situated in Al Furjan, Nakheel’s master-development off Sheikh Zayed Road.

The three- and four-bedroom townhouses would span between 2,500 sqf and 3,000 sqf (232 sqm and 279 sqm) at the sprawling Furjan development.

The affordable residential project is set for completion in September 2016.

5. dar wasl by wasl Asset Management

The project is in close proximity to Safa Park, with schools, hospitals, supermarkets, and leisure centres located in its vicinity.

The $136m (AED500m) development is billed as a superior residential neighbourhood.

It features attached two-storey villas with impressive views of Business Bay, and a three-storey residential, road-facing building, which boasts retail outlets on the ground level.

The development has been designed to maximise comfort and convenience with dedicated parking, a health club, swimming pools, and a children’s playground.

6. Mina Oasis in Reem community, Emaar Properties

Mira Oasis comprises 411 townhouses designed to the highest standards and inspired by contemporary styles.

All of them have large balconies, modern fittings and fixtures, driveways and courtyards.

The three and four-bedroom residences are ideal for families, with each home offering ample privacy.

The Reem community, also featuring cycling and walking pathways, assures a relaxed lifestyle ambience and promotes the active outdoor lifestyle of residents.

Schools, mosques, and retail plazas, which are in close proximity, add to the residents’ quality of life.

The first phase of the townhouses is set for handover in mid-2016.
