UAE: gasoline prices drop as diesel value rises 2%
The country's Ministry of Energy reduced petrol prices by 7% to 8% as global energy markets continue to dwindle
The UAE's Ministry of Energy announced fuel prices for the month of March 2016 on 28 February.
Local prices for gasoline have been reduced for the month, while diesel prices have gained 2% since February.
The price of a litre of Octane 95 gasoline will fall to AED1.36 from AED1.47, the ministry announced on its Twitter account.
Special 95 fuel's price dropped 7.4% to AED1.36, and E Plus 91's price dropped to AED1.29.
However, the price of diesel for March increased 2% to AED1.40 from AED1.37.
The ministry did not reveal the system it deployed to arrive at this diesel price.
Fuel prices in the UAE have been deregulated and set on a monthly basis since August 2015.
