UAE's NMC opens $200m hospital in Abu Dhabi

The 7.5ha multi-specialty hospital is a greenfield project funded through NMC Healthcare's listing on the London Stock Exchange

The UAE's NMC Healthcare opened the country's largest private sector hospital in Abu Dhabi on 7 March.

The $200m (AED734.6m) NMC Royal Hospital is located in the capital's Khalifa City area.

Comprising 500 beds, the hospital spans 7.5ha, and offers multi-specialty health services. 

The hospital has been established as a greenfield project from the funds accrued through NMC's listing on the London Stock Exchange. 

Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, inaugurated the facility, according to state agency WAM.

Remarking on the development, Sheikh Nahyan said: "The NMC Royal Hospital is the first hospital to be completed on the land awarded by the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi and Health Authority of Abu Dhabi in accordance with the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 plan.''
