Omniyat has appointed Brookfield Multiplex as the main contractor for its $544m (AED2bn) One at Palm Jumeirah development.

UAE-headquartered Omniyat revealed that the G+23 LEED Silver project, which boasts a gross construction area of 107,795 sqm, is to be built within two years.

Commenting on the contract award, Mark Phoenix, managing director of Omniyat Group, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Brookfield Multiplex as the main contractor for the One at Palm Jumeirah.

“Our relationship with Brookfield Multiplex goes back a long time, and both the management and team have always demonstrated the highest level of expertise and professionalism,” he added.

Described by Omniyat as an “architectural masterpiece”, One at Palm Jumeirah is the result of an international competition held in 2014. The project is located at the first plot on the trunk of the Dubai archipelago, and will house 90 apartments designed by Tokyo-based outfit, Super Potato.

One at Palm Jumeirah will be divided into three cores, each of which will allow access to a maximum of two apartments per floor. The development will feature three swimming pools, a private yacht club, spas, a gymnasium, a library, a private cinema, and landscape areas designed by Vladimir Djurovic.

John Ferguson, executive chairman of Brookfield Multiplex, said: “We are delighted to be chosen to build this unique and outstanding project, and we look forward to building on our existing relationship with Omniyat.”

Apartment prices at the development will begin at $3.8m (AED14m), increasing to $54.5 (AED200m) for the penthouse, which Omniyat claims is the most expensive in Dubai.

“We’re seeing buyers from as far as New York to as near as the Palm,” concluded Omniyat’s Phoenix.
