Bruce Shaw has been selected as the cost management consultancy for Al Sharq Investment’s (ASI) $545 (AED2bn) Alef Residences.

The consultancy will provide full pre- and post-contract cost management services for the development, which is located adjacent to W Dubai – The Palm in the UAE.

The firm has had involvement in the preparation of all cost estimates during the project’s design and procurement stages. It has a full onsite team, and is advising ASI with regards the monthly monitoring of site progress and recommendations for contractor payments.

Commenting on the Palm Jumeirah project, Steven Cooke, regional director for the GCC at Bruce Shaw, said: “Bruce Shaw has a long history in the development of exclusive hotels and residences worldwide, and we are proud to have been chosen as the cost consultancy partner on this particularly unique project.

“We believe that this development will dictate the future shape of beachfront properties in the Dubai region and beyond, and we will strive to continue to look after our client’s interests and ensure that the project comes in on time and within budget,” he added.

The project site is approximately 9.3ha in size, and will include a hotel, a landscaped garden, and a 475m-long beachfront – the largest private residential beachfront in Dubai. Individual units at Alef Residences will range in size between 450 sqm (4,800 sqft) and 1,400 sqm (15,000 sqft).

The project’s luxury apartments will be priced from $3.3m (AED12m) to $13.6m (AED50m) for a penthouse. Residents will have access to a private members’ club, which will boast a tennis coart, a health club, a spar, a swimming pool, a lounge, a boardroom, and a children’s zone.

Alef Residences owners and occupiers will also be able to access facilities at W Dubai – The Palm, including its 24-hour concierge service.

The project is scheduled to complete in spring 2017.
