Five Minutes With: Mohammed Ibrahim Fawaz, QBG FM
Mohammed Ibrahim Fawaz, Business Development Manager, QBG FM
0.00 What does your role involve?
As business development manager, I am constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and growth from new and existing customers, markets and relationships. I do this by identifying trendsetting ideas through researching the industry, publications, and announcements, as well as tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
1.45 What has been your most memorable project and why?
The most memorable project for me was mobilisation of the first contract for integrated facilities management at a mall.
2.05 What do you love most about your job?
What I like best about my job is that one of my primary responsibilities involves interacting with clients & employees on all different levels of the organisation, and across all functional areas. I love that I get to learn new things about the company/business/market/etc every day, and they only occasionally are finance/accounting specific.
3.00 What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
The most challenging aspect of my job is to convince the client to switch from their existing FM provider to QBG. Thankfully, though, given the wide range of integrated services we provide, and the fact that we never compromise on quality, transforms this challenge into an opportunity.
4.05 Where do you see the FM industry in five years?
The FM industry in the region is entering a period of rapid change. Owners and regulators are becoming more aware of the need for sustainability in building construction and management and as a result new buildings are becoming more complex and operating targets for existing buildings are becoming more demanding. The FM industry is at the centre of these trends; how we respond will shape the industry in the next decade.
4.45 What do you like to do most in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy brushing up on my skills and learning about any new changes or trends in the market. I subscribe to business magazines and attend local seminars. On a personal note, I love Thursday dinner with my family.
