UAE to raise fuel prices by at least 10% in April

The increase in fuel prices for April follows seven consecutive months of declines

Gasoline and diesel prices in the UAE will rise by more than 10% in April, according to the Ministry of Energy.

The cost of Super 98 fuel will increase 10.2% from $0.40 (AED1.47) in March 2016 to $0.44 (AED1.62) in April.

Meanwhile, Special 95 is up 11% from $0.37 (AED1.36) to $0.41 (AED1.51) and E-Plus 91 will rise 11.6% from $0.35 (AED1.29) to $0.39 (AED1.44).

Diesel prices will also increase 11.4% from $0.38 (AED1.40) to $0.42 (AED1.56), according to the announcement made on Monday, 28 March, 2016.

The increase in prices for April follows seven consecutive months of declines.

April's increase tracks the rise in the price of Brent crude in the past month which has risen from around $36 a barrel to more than $40.
