Dubai Healthcare City unveils Phase II hospital
The Clemenceau Medical Centre will become the first hospital in Dubai Healthcare City's phase 2 extension
Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) has announced plans to establish the first hospital in its phase 2 expansion.
The Clemenceau Medical Centre will become the third general hospital for the free zone, according to a DHCC statement.
The 110-bed hospital will have advances such as robotic surgery and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services.
Developed in partnership with Khansahed Investment, the $108.9m (AED400m) Clemenceau Medical Centre is expected to receive its first patients by 2018.
Dr Raja Al Gurg, vice-chairperson and executive director of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, said: "We are working towards the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed in establishing the emirate as a global medical tourism hub and developing Dubai's key sectors.
"Phase 2 of Dubai Healthcare City will increase the free zone's health services and support Dubai'sn economic diversification."
The new hospital will comprise six operating theatres and will also feature services for medical tourists.
