UAE developer Alef Group awarded the construction contract for the Zero 6 project in Sharjah to Omis Contracting.

The signing of the contract was done in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, chairman of Alef Group, a number of officials, VIPs and businessmen in the UAE.

The agreement was signed by Issa Ataya, managing director of Alef Group, and Omar Al Owais, founding partner and CEO of OMIS Contracting.

On this occasion, Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi said: “Over the past years, Sharjah has witnessed significant urban and developmental progress. This progress has reinforced the position of Sharjah and has made it an attractive investment environment that possesses outstanding infrastructure and wins high confidence from investors across the region and the world at large.”

Construction works on the mall have already been commenced and will be completed in April 2017.

The Zero 6 project is an advanced model of the new generation of malls, where the elements of modern innovative design are in harmony with Sharjah's architectural history.

The project is located within a 5km radius from Sharjah University City, Sharjah International Airport, Dubai International Airport and high-end residential areas.

The Zero 6 shopping mall will be built on an overall area of approximately 37,000 sqm, where the leasable area is 16,000 sqm, out of that 13,000 sqm is for retail and 3,000 sqm has been allocated for restaurants and cafes.

The project will include leisure and service facilities, an eight screen cinema complex including the largest IMAX in the UAE.

The project will also include a car park with a capacity for 490 cars, including several parking lots surrounding the mall.

The shopping mall will also provide its visitors with a gym, a medical facility, a family entertainment centre, a nursery under the supervision of a number of specialists, and other vital facilities.
