UAE's Abu Dhabi Municipality forms infra risk plan
A workshop was recently held to promote risk management for infrastructure and municipal assets, with modules focusing on risk identification and analysis
The UAE's Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has revealed plans to chart out an infrastructure risk management strategy for the Emirate.
Under this initiative, a workshop was recently held to promote an understanding of risk management for Abu Dhabi's infrastructure and municipal assets.
Additional educative workshops will also be launched to further the protection of municipal assets and the implementation of sustainable development standards.
Furthermore, the workshop is also assessing the current situation of risk management strategies, highlighting the shortcomings of practical practices relating to the testing and assessing of risks, and the effective planning of high-level risks according to a specific and effective strategy.
ADM is keen to ensure the "readiness of asset operation and maintenance teams in the Municipality" through these workshops, according to state agency WAM.
Topics covered during these specialist workshops will include modules on identifying and assessing risks, coping with risks, and drawing up a risk management plan.
Remedial actions to address these risks and their potential impacts will also be analysed, besides setting out a procedure for monitoring these procedures at the present and long terms.
