The International Cricket Council Academy at Dubai Sports City announced the launch of its PowerBase conditioning facility and a new cricket training and play area, named Cricket Cage.

PowerBase is an indoor and outdoor conditioning facility dedicated to athletic development and the specific physical training which is required to play elite cricket.

Cricket Cage is a fully floodlit, multi-use cricket space, designed for coaching, practice and games.

It has been custom built to function as an eight-member cricket court, featuring tension netting and marking to enable indoor-league style cricket outside.

Alternatively, the space can be converted in up to six practice net lanes for batting, bowling and coaching.

Remarking on the development, Dubai Sports City president, Khalid Al Zarooni, said: "The unveiling of PowerBase and the new Cricket Cage today represents a great addition to our existing word class facilities at Dubai Sports City.

"The ICC Academy is an integral part of Dubai Sports City, and with such a strong passion for cricket in Dubai and UAE, we want to provide the very best of training and match facilities."
