The temporary bridge around the Kaaba will be removed by May 27, according to the committee overseeing the expansion of the Grand Mosque, Arabs news reported.

Once the bridge is removed, it will accommodate 107,000 pilgrims.
Wael Al-Halabi, a member of the committee, was quoted in the local news as saying that most of the work took place over the past two weeks.
More than 14,000 engineers, technicians and workers have been working on the project to increase the capacity of the mataf.
The project includes central air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, sound systems, clocks and surveillance cameras.
The $21.3bn (SAR80bn) Grand Mosque expansion, once completed, will see around 1.5 million more worshippers accommodated.
