Sheikh Mohammed tours $2.7bn Dubai Parks & Resorts

Project completion details have emerged as the theme park readies to open in October 2016

Construction work at the Dubai Parks & Resorts theme park is 88% complete, while utilities infrastructure is 70% ready, it has been revealed. 

These details emerged following a site tour of the $2.7bn (AED10bn) project by Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. 

The Ruler also inspected the project's plans and designs during his visit. 

According to state agency WAM, HH Sheikh Mohammed expressed optimism with regards the theme park, adding it is one of the hospitality offerings expected to support Dubai Expo 2020 following its October 2016 launch. 

HH Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by numerous officials from the Expo 2020 committee and government departments of Dubai.
