Marcus Sutton has been appointed as General Manager of Crowne Plaza Doha – The Business Park, effective this month.

Sutton brings close to 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry working in London, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Dubai.

In his most recent role as the general manager for Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Sutton managed the the hotel’s growth in all sectors, elevating the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi to the forefront of the country’s hospitality industry.

Working at Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City and InterContinental Dubai Festival City prior to that, under his watch, both hotels were ranked No. 1 for their brands in the IMEA region for complete guest experience.

Sutton joined the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in 2011 as executive assistant manager managing the rooms division at the Crowne Plaza, InterContinental and InterContinental Residences Suites Dubai Festival City.

Originally from Australia, Marcus went to Macquarie University and the International College of Management in Sydney, Australia, and Institut Hotelier Cesar Ritz in Le Bouveret, Switzerland.
