Abu Dhabi: Ferrari World plans phase III expansion

Ferrari World is planning a third phase of expansion which will feature rides and attractions that 'the world has never seen before, according to a senior executive.

The expansion, which is due for completion by early 2017, will add three new major rides and attractions - increasing the park's overall capacity by 40%.

Upon completion, the Abu Dhabi theme park will comprise 38 Ferrari-inspired rides and attractions in total, Arabian Business reported.

Jesse Vargas, general manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, said: "The re-invetion of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, with its unique experiences and record-breaking rides, has contributed to boosting our current capacity by 20%.

"In less than two years, and with 6 million man-hours dedicated to the project, we have now completed the second phase of the expansion attracting even more families, Ferrari fans, and theme park enthusiasts to the evolving leisure destination of Yas Island."

The completed second phase of expansion saw the addition of Karting Academy, Ferrari Driving Experience, the triple record-breaking rollercoaster - Flying Aces - and Benno's Great Race.

Vargas added: "It has been an exceptional year for us as we celebrate our 5th year of growth in the UAE and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is on target to meet our annual goal."
