Oman: China plans industrial city in Duqm
The Chinese delegation will visit Duqm on Tuesday, along with their Omani counterparts
A usufruct agreement will be signed to establish a major industrial city in Duqm between Oman and China, which is expected to attract as much as $10bn investments by 2022.
The agreement for the China-Oman Industrial City in Duqm will be signed by the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm with Chinese agencies in Muscat.
Wang Yong, State Councillor of China will begin a two-day visit to the Sultanate.
The Chinese delegation will visit Duqm on Tuesday, along with their Omani counterparts.
The Chinese guests will meet Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, deputy prime minister for the Council of Ministers and officials in Oman, reported local daily Times of Oman.
The Chinese State Councillor will be accompanied by a senior delegation comprising officials of some Chinese companies, who will conduct official meetings with Al Said, Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, minister of Transport and Communications, and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, secretary general of the Foreign Ministry.
