Kuwait is expected to sign a $1bn contract with a joint venture for its planned South Al Mutlaa City project, according to an official.
The signing of the contract with Italy's Salini Impregilo and Turkey's Limak Construction is expected to take place within the next two weeks, according to Naser Khraibut, director of planning at Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare.
The contract, which will be funded by the Kuwaiti Government from its own reserves, will cover construction of a road and other infrastructure.
Kuwait is also expected to sign a contract this month worth between $80m and $90m with Hill International to manage the building of South Al Mutlaa City, Khraibut added as cited by Reuters.
