RLB appoints Rob Edgecombe as MD for Gulf states
Following the departure of Tony Bratt, Rider Levett Bucknall has promoted Rob Edgecombe to the position of managing director for Gulf states
Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) has appointed Rob Edgecombe as its new managing director for Gulf states.
Edgecombe will replace Tony Bratt, who has decided to step down after four years in the position.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the construction sector, Edgecombe joined RLB in 2009. He was made director of the programme and cost management consultancy's Dubai office in 2012, and became a shareholder in RLB Global Group in 2015.
Since relocating to the Middle East 14 years ago, Edgecombe has been responsible for the delivery of services for a range of projects, including Mall of the Emirates, Palm Jumeirah, and Nakheel Mall and Hotel.
RLB has praised Edgecombe for his role in guiding its Dubai branch following the financial crisis of 2008.
Commenting on his appointment as MD for Gulf states, Edgecombe said: “It is a great honour to take on the role of managing director at this exciting time for RLB Gulf States. The business continues to go from strength to strength as we enter our sixth successive year of growth.
“We have continued this trajectory despite the many challenges that the region has faced following the global financial crisis and the recent effects of the global oil market.
“There are many opportunities for us to continue this success across the Middle East region, and I look forward to working with our team and our clients to continue to achieve our goals,” he added.
In addition to his role as MD for Gulf states, Edgecombe will continue in his position as chairman of Al Moltaka / Dubai Society for Construction Professionals (DSCP), a knowledge-sharing forum designed to foster dialogue between industry members.
Outgoing MD Bratt, who plans to retire at the end of March 2019, will remain a director of RLB’s Gulf states business.
