In March, HIA joined Skytrax's list of the 10 best airports in the world.

Dubai International Airport also made it onto the list, ranking in fifth position.
Qatar is currently in the planning stage to expand HIA, increasing the passenger terminal to more than 1,000,000 m2 by 2020.
This expansion will almost double the number of contact gates to 61 - with capacity expected to reach 53million passengers a year.
Earlier this month, Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said building work on the project should begin by the end of this year.
