Time-lapse footage has emerged which shows a group of construction workers install a 70m tunnel in just one weekend in the Netherlands.

The intense work schedule means the construction workers were required to work around the clock, and through torrential rain and violent winds, to get the tunnel done in time while causing minimal disruption to motorists.

A live webcam stream from the construction site showed exactly how workers used four cranes to demolish the road before sliding in the fitted tunnel.

The impressive work was carried out by the Dutch construction company Heijmans on the A12 highway towards Arnhem.
