Dubai's DSOA installs Huawei Smart Street system
Huawei's centrally controlled Smart Street Solution has been installed by Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority
Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), has installed a Smart Street Solution system at its premises.
The centrally controlled system, implemented in collaboration with ICT solutions provider Huawei, is said to be the first of its kind in the Middle East.
Huawei's Smart Pole has been installed at DSO.
Smart Street Solution incorporates a number features geared towards creating a secure environment for the community.
Its digital signage capability offers real-time display of news and information, while the integrated Wi-Fi transmitter offers internet access within a 300m radius.
The system also includes CCTVs to allow intelligent surveillance, and environmental sensors that monitor outdoor temperature, humidity, and air quality.
Additional services and capabilities can be added as required in a cost- and time-efficient manner, Dubai Media Office reported.
Commenting on the system's implementation, Eng Muammar Al Katheeri, vice president of engineering management at DSOA, said: "DSO has demonstrated its ability to be the destination of choice for public and private entities with regard to excellence in implementing smart city initiatives.
"We are dedicated to researching and introducing smart city technologies on a sustained basis within our premises for the benefit of tenants and residents at DSO and the wider UAE community."
"The installation of the first smart street pole in DSO will enable us in collaboration with our strategic partners to test this new smart solution in order to evaluate its scalability and feasibility for large scale implementation across our hi-tech park as well as the city of Dubai," Al Katheeri added.
