Trojan Battery appoints chief operating officer
US deep-cycle industrial battery specialist Trojan Battery appoints COO as it looks to develop its business
Trojan Battery has appointed its first chief operating officer (COO) in John Beering, who brings more than 20 years of experience leading operations across various companies.
Reporting to the president and CEO, Jeff Elder, Beering is now responsible for all of the primary operations of the company, from the engineering and manufacturing quality control through to environmental health and safety, supply chain, sales and marketing.
Elder highlighted: “John Beering’s breadth of engineering, operations, sales, marketing and business management experience will be instrumental to Trojan Battery as we enter the next phase of our corporate growth.”
Most recently, Beering was senior vice president and general manager for Eaton’s Commercial Powertrain Business, a role in which he was responsible for the commercial and product development programmes, as well as the division’s strategic initiatives globally.
Elder added: “Trojan is committed to delivering unmatched deep-cycle battery technology, along with world class customer service and support, and John Beering’s proven track record make him the ideal candidate to lead our key growth initiatives.”
Beering’s appointment is one of a number of recent executive management additions to Trojan Battery’s senior leadership team aimed at helping “support and implement the company’s wide-ranging product development and global sales strategies”.
Trojan appointed Michael Everett, senior vice president of engineering, and Robert Gibson vice president of quality, in February 2016, and both now serve on the company’s executive team and will report to Beering.
Beering has a master’s in management, marketing and finance, and a bachelor’s in industrial engineering from Purdue University.
