Terex AWP has begun the delivery of 58 Genie-branded boom lifts and scissor lifts to a Moroccan customer, Eurogrues, in the largest aerial work platform order to date in the country – signed earlier this year at Bauma.

The deal includes a wide choice of all-electric and diesel-powered Genie GS scissor lifts and Genie ZX and Genie Z articulating boom lifts, with working heights ranging from 8m to 43m.

Christophe Rousseau, the regional sales director for Terex AWP, stated: “This order is the most significant investment in new aerials ever signed in Morocco, and we are confident this new business relationship will support the culture of safety at height in the construction industry in Morocco.”

The order, the deliveries for which began in early July, significantly increases the company’s offering of machines adapted to safe work at height to support Morocco’s expanding construction sector.

José Antonio Moreno, MD of Eurogrues Morocco, added: “In addition to the best-in-class capabilities and quality of the products, we were impressed by the advice provided by the Genie team.

“It is easy to see why Genie is one of today’s world-leading mobile access brands. This first order marks the beginning of what we expect to be a long-term relationship as Eurogrues continues to expand its Genie fleet to maintain its leadership position in Morocco.”

Terex AWP’s provision of on-site training and technical support in Morocco, and its web-based parts delivery system that ships within 24 hours, also contributed to Genie’s reliable image with Eurogrues.

Rousseau, commented: “Genie has worked hard for a whole year to put together a comprehensive and tailored offer, including not only equipment which is safe to operate, but also a complete service package to help maintain it safely.”

Hatim Jaadour, sales director for Eurogrues Morocco, affirmed: “Safety is a key focus, and with this order we are ready to provide the industry-leading equipment our customers rely on to work at height – adapted to both their specific needs and industry safety standards.”

As Morocco’s leading lift, access and materials handling rental provider, Eurogrues has a presence across the port, power, wind and industrial construction projects currently underway in the country.
