Barwa awards $27.4m Madinat Al Mawater contract

Barwa Real Estate has awarded construction contracts for the Phase I of Madinat Al Mawater project to Doha-based INSHA Co.

The works, valued at $27.4m (QAR99.85m), are scheduled to be completed within 12 months, The Peninsula reported.

Located at the intersection of Rawdat Rashed Road and Salwa Road, once completed, Phase I will serve as a hub offering services including the sale, purchase, and maintenance of used vehicles.

Phase I of Madinat Al Mawater project is among numerous new projects planned by Barwa Real Estate in 2016.

Occupying a plot of 215,677m², Phase I will include 60 car showrooms covering a total area of 18,506m², 176 residential apartments over a total area of 14,191m², and 10 commercial shops and workshops covering 806m².

Included in the infrastructure will be three electrical substations, internal roads, potable water, firefighting, irrigation, sewage, storm water and CCTV networks.

Alongside this will be all related services such as pump rooms and tanks with total built-up area of 34,066m².

The project will also house a Woqod petrol station.

Included in INSHA’s portfolio is the development of high-end special projects in addition to constructing commercial and residential buildings, industrial buildings, school buildings, mosques, sports facilities also undertaking renovation work.

Operating in the building and infrastructure sectors, the company utilises its internal resources to manage various types of construction and it is known for its result-driven approach.

Barwa Real Estate’s goals for 2016 include beginning development of several new projects, mainly Dara A project in Lusail, Phase I of Mustawdaat project and the extension of Barwa village project.

A residential project at Al Khor that consists of 300 residential apartments and 50 villas, forms part of the company’s plans for 2016.

Also on the list for 2016 is of Phase 2 of the Barwa Al Baraha workers’ accommodation, consisting of 16 residential buildings.

The company has also plans to create Lusail Golf project’s master plan with a land space of 3.6 million sqm.
