The UAE’s Minister of Infrastructure Development, Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuami, has endorsed a plan to Emiratise 100% of his ministry by the end of 2017

The UAE’s Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MoID) is to Emiratise 100% of its work categories before the end of 2017, according to state news agency, WAM.

The Emiratisation strategy has been endorsed by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuami, the UAE’s Minister of Infrastructure Development.

Abdul Rahman Khamis Al Mazmi, director of the MoID’s human resources (HR) department, said that, at present, the proportion of Emiratisation in the categories of leadership and supervisory totals 100%. The proportion of Emiratisation in specialised categories currently stands at 89%.

Al Mazmi said that the MoID aims to attract the most talented and qualified Emiratis in line with UAE Vision 2021. The ministry’s strategic plan is to hone the skills of UAE nationals and develop human capital in accordance with the best international practices, according to WAM.

The MoID is considering signing a number of agreements with educational institutions to develop the skills of employees through training programmes, conferences, and initiatives that will impact HR development across various fields, the report added.
