Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an online asset management training programme.

The agency's human resources and development department at its corporate administrative support services sector – in collaboration and coordination with the asset management department, strategy and corporate governance sector – has unveiled the course.

RTA's programme is touted as the first of its kind around the world.

Employees of the agency that are interested in the field are applicable for the programme.

Kawther Kazim, executive director of human resources and development at RTA, said the programme will be offered free of charge to its employees.

"Through this online training programme, the trainee will be given comprehensive lessons about the principles of tangible and intangible assets," she continued.

"It offers a learning experience at any time and place where Wi-Fi internet connectivity is available, thus offering trainee flexibility in time and place.

"Upon the completion of an eight-hour interactive training programme, the trainee will be awarded Expert Certificate in the field of asset management."

RTA will work on "broadening and upgrading" the programme in the future, she added, according to Dubai Media Office.
