Saudi: 829 firms fail to apply midday work ban
829 establishments in Saudi Arabia have failed to comply with the midday work ban regulation
900 violations involving midday work ban have been detected in Saudi Arabia since the launch of the restriction on 15 June, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
Fahad Al-Owaidi, deputy minister for inspection and development of work environment at the ministry, cited by Arab News, said: “829 establishments have failed to comply with the regulation, with 966 violations registered by inspection teams.”
The ministry, he said, will put in all efforts to implement the work ban, under the hot sun from noon until 3 pm, in order to protect the safety and health of workers in the private sector to 15 September.
Employers must take necessary measures to prevent workers from any harm under a government decision that prohibits, Al-Owaudi added.
