Qatar: Ministry cautions on work site rules

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has caution the construction sector on adhering to rules around work sites

The construction sector has been warned to adhere to the law around hoardings and sidewalk works.

Companies, contractors, and engineering consultancies in Qatar have been warned by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment who do not obey ministerial decrees on construction works regarding work sites, fencing requirements and sidewalks, Al Sharq reports.

In line with the ministerial decision No. 120 concerning signs at work sites, contractors must display a board at the entry of sites, stating the names of the owner and street, date and number of building permit and other relevant information.

While the Ministerial Decision No. 121 outlines that contractors are to put a fence at the site according to specifications.

The ministry has cautioned all parties to meet the standards to avoid any legal procedures.
