Nakheel tenders for two Dubai hotels' construction
The Dragon City and Ibn Battuta Mall hotels will increase Nakheel's hospitality portfolio by 670 rooms
Master developer Nakheel has released tenders for the construction of two hotels in Dubai that will increase its hospitality portfolio by 670 rooms.
A 295-room hotel, spanning 1.67ha, is to be built at Dragon City, the hub comprising Dragon Mart and Dragon Mart 2.
Another hotel, a 15-storey and 375-room property, will be developed at Ibn Battuta Mall, where a 2.7ha extension opened this May.
The Ibn Battuta hotel will cover 2.61ha, and will be located by the surrounding metro station's entrance.
Both three-star hotels are due for completion in 2017, and are expected to complement existing hospitality properties around Dragon City and Ibn Battuta.
Nakheel opened a 251-room Accor-operated Ibis Styles hotel at Dragon Mart 2 this February, and its 372-room Premier Inn at Ibn Battuta will open in Q4 2016, Dubai Media Office reported.
