Fire hits two warehouses in Abu Dhabi's Mina area

State agency WAM reported the blaze broke out in two warehouses in Mina area, with one warehouse containing foodstuff and the other containing stationery

A fire is reported to have broken out in Abu Dhabi on 12 August. 

The emirate's Civil Defence and Rapid Intervention teams were called at 11.15am on Friday to attend to the fire.

According to WAM, the "massive" blaze broke out at two warehouses situated behind an Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society branch in Abu Dhabi's Mina area. 

One of these warehouses is reported to have contained stationery, while the other contained foodstuff. 

Lt Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, director-general of the Civil Defence, said both teams rushed to the scene upon receiving reports from the Operation Room. 

No injuries were reported from the incident, with the firefighting teams successfully controlling and containing the blaze, the report added.
