Emicool wins district cooling contract from Damac

Emicool has been awarded a 25-year concession contract as the exclusive district cooling supplier for the Akoya by Damac development in Dubai

Emirates District Cooling (Emicool) has been awarded a 25-year concession contract as the exclusive district cooling supplier for the Akoya by Damac project in Dubai.

The contract covers chilled water system for all residential buildings within the residential development in Dubailand.

Emicool will deliver 15,340 tonnes of refrigeration [TR] chilled water from its plant at Hessah Street to the Akoya site through pipes, valve chambers and heat exchangers stations.

The company will also supply the british thermal Unit [BTU] meters to the  buildings to monitor and measure the energy usage and carry out billing services once the they are occupied.

Emicool awarded the engineering, procurement and construction [EPC] contract to Al Nasr Contracting for $13.6m (AED50m) to design and build the pipeline network and valve chambers.

Akoya by Damac spans 3.9 million m2 and is home to a mansions, villas, apartments, hotels and resorts, golf club and 371,612m2 of greenery.
