Winners of ME Tekla BIM Awards announced in Dubai

The BIM-implemented projects used 3D-BIM files from various project parties and were combined in Tekla for clash checking as well as preventing problems on site

The winners of the Middle East Tekla BIM Awards have been announced in Dubai, with six projects receiving the recognition.

The statement on the website read: "The competition this year was very intense with some companies having a model in more than one category. The six categories this year were commercial, public projects, industrial, infrastructure, small projects, and sports & recreation projects."

The BIM-implemented projects used 3D-BIM files from various project parties and were all combined in Tekla for clash checking as well as preventing problems on site.

A jury consisting of BIM experts and industry leaders had to choose one project as a winner from an array of highly-complex structures that were entered in their respective categories.

The Midfield Terminal Complex – Piers & Gate Houses-Bridges and The Nas Arena submitted by Eversendai won the Public Projects and Sports and Recreation Category.

The jury selected Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Middle East Pvt. Ltd. for their work on the Al Habtoor City Theater as the commercial category winner and their work on the Abdullah Arif Bridge as the Infrastructure category winner.

The Industrial category winner is AIC for their work on Conversion of Hail – 2 Simple cycle to combined cycle power plant.

All the above winners have been entered into the Global BIM Awards competition 2016.
