Qatar: Ashghal implements year-long road closures

Qatar’s Industrial Area will see numerous road-closures due to improvement works being conducted by authorities.

In force from 29 August, 2016 (Monday), Ashghal has notified that several streets in Qatar’s Industrial Area will be closed for an entire year as the authority works to increase capacity on the roads, ease traffic flow and congestion, and improve the area.

Streets 658, 656, 654, and 660 will be shut, according to the Public Works Authority. Motorists will need use the one open lane on Street 653, heading toward West Industrial St.

There will be access to residential buildings and businesses in the area as streets 655, 657, and 659 will be open to traffic in both directions.

To ensure safety, commuters are asked to follow posted speed limit signs and other traffic directions.
