UAE-based Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium Public Institution has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from construction companies for the development and operation of a resort and hotel.

The Al Ain Zoo's move comes as part of its plan to transform the existing facility into a new learning destination and a tourist attraction called the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort, which will be dedicated to conserving wildlife.

The government entity has sought pre-qualification bids from these companies for the resort project by the third week of September.

Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium Public Institution is also planning to develop and operate a sports area that will include hiring and maintenance of mountain bikes, commercial shops, and outdoor playing pitches.

Besides, the entity is offering a lot of investment opportunities for companies in these projects and giving them a chance to operate one/all of the restaurants in the zoo.

Companies are also being invited to invest in and operate one/all of the kiosks for the provision of pre-packed and ready food and beverages inside the park.

A 400ha zoo located in the foothills of the Jebel Hafeet Mountains in the UAE, the Al Ain Zoo mainly comprises Arabian antelopes and oryx, eland, gazelle, lechwe, and can be found in the tree-shaded paddocks.
