Construction works have commenced at Deyaar Development’s hotel project in Dubai’s Al Barsha area.

The development will feature a total of 408 units, including 299 hotel rooms and suites, and 109 one- and two-bedroom serviced apartments.

The project boasts a total plot size of 0.65ha, and is scheduled to complete by December 2017, according to its developer.

Saeed Al Qatami, chief executive officer of Deyaar, said: “This project reiterates Deyaar’s commitment to support Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, and increase the supply and variety of accommodation options.

“The property is conveniently positioned in one of Dubai’s burgeoning districts in the vicinity of numerous landmarks and facilities. Our Al Barsha project is complementary to our growth strategy, and is a significant expansion of our portfolio in the hospitality sector. [Deyaar is] aiming to manage 1,000 hospitality units by 2018,” he revealed.

This development is the latest in a string of UAE hospitality projects announced by Deyaar, including a premises at The Atria in Business Bay, and the Mont Rose in Dubai Science Park.

The developer’s hotel and serviced apartments in Al Barsha, which are situated in close proximity to Mall of the Emirates, have been designed to cater to mid-market demand for Sharia-compliant accommodation.
