Dubai: Omniyat set to open 1,000 new rooms by 2020

Omniyat plans to open more than 1,000 new rooms in Dubai by 2020, the firm announced at Cityscape Global 2016.

The Dubai-based property developer is set to open 505 five-star hotel rooms and 495 deluxe serviced apartments in Dubai by 2020.

The developer also plans to make its debut on Dubai’s hospitality scene with The Opus, along with a number of other high-profile developments across Dubai.

The Opus in Business Bay Dubai will feature 93 hotel rooms and 96 serviced apartments.

Speaking at Cityscape Global 2016, Mark Phoenix, managing director of Omniyat, said: “Omniyat has made its mark on the city over the past 11 years with a number of high profile office and residential buildings and now is the perfect time to move our expertise into the hotel and hospitality area.

“We are thrilled to be introducing some of the world’s finest hospitality brands to the city, including the Langham and the ME by Melia which will be housed in the Opus development, designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid.

“Our commitment to opening another 505 hotel rooms across the city is just the start of our plans to make our mark on the hospitality scene,” he added.

Among the hotels Omniyat will be opening by 2020 is Langham Place in Downtown Dubai, with 167 hotel rooms and 153 serviced apartments, and Plot 18 in Business Bay, with 245 hotel rooms and suites, and 246 serviced apartments.
