Dubai bus shelters set for Filipino consular boxes

The Philippines Consulate General in Dubai has reportedly outlined plans to set up drop boxes at bus shelters so Filipino expats may contact their embassy more easily

Bus shelters in Dubai will be fitted with letter-boxes aimed at aiding Filipino expats communicate with their consulate offices. 

The Philippines Consulate General in Dubai has reportedly outlined plans to set up drop boxes so Filipino expats may contact their embassy more easily.

According to Arabian Business, the consultate general has inked an agreement with courier and cargo provider LBC Express under which the drop boxes, called Kabayan Corner, will be installed.

Up to 450,000 Filipino expats reside in Dubai, the report continued. 

Kabayan Corner boxes will be installed in bus shelters located in Satwa, Mankhool, Baniyas, Bur Dubai and Al Rigga.

"Letters from Filipino expats will be delivered to the Philippine Consulate General based in Dubai on a weekly basis," the report added, citing a statement by LBC.
