As part of the Lusail Light Rail Transit system (LRT), KONE has won an order for 139 elevators, escalators, and autowalks to be installed.

Developed by Qatar Rail, the new sustainable transport system is expected to accommodate the 250,000 inhabitants of Lusail and serve around 40,000 daily visitors.

Comprising 10km of underground track, the LRT network will have four main tram lines, at ground level and elevated tracks and passenger stations.

The rail network will connect to Doha’s metro network at a network interchange located on Al Khor highway.

Included in the order will be 49 elevators, 82 escalators, eight horizontal autowalks, all to ensure accessibility and seamless transfer for the passengers through the stations.
