Al Shirawi Interiors has congratulated Ladybird Early Learning Centre for its recent win at the Commercial Interior Design Awards 2016.

The LEED Gold certified nursery was chosen as the best ‘Interior Design of the Year' in the public sector category.

Al Shirawi Interiors was part of the project, providing complete fitout and all woodwork and loose furniture. The project’s design was developed by Godwin Austen Johnson.

Navin Valrani, CEO of Al Shirawi Interiors, said: "Congratulations to Ladybird Early Learning Centre and GAJ for delivering a contemporary structure that not only inspires young minds but is also greener and more efficient. As a company dedicated to the highest quality in interior fit-out contracting, we are proud to associate with such a path-breaking project.”

Evie Boustantzi, general manager of Al Shirawi Interiors, added: “From the very outset, it was our earnest desire to help the client and the design team realise their LEED Gold aspiration. A lot of care went into the material selection, sourcing, handling and the finishing. At the same time we wanted to ensure that the woodwork, while it met the aesthetics, is also long-lasting, functional and child-friendly.”

“Our procurement processes were also tailored to meet the LEED aspirations of the project. Wood was sourced from certified forests that ensured compliance with FSC 100, FSC mix and FSC Recycled materials."
