Legoland, Riverland initiate DPR’s phased opening
Dubai Parks and Resorts’ Legoland Dubai and Riverland Dubai venues are now open, and the development’s other theme parks are due to come online before the end of 2016
Dubai Parks and Resorts’ (DPR) phased opening has commenced.
The multi-theme-park development’s Legoland Dubai and Riverland Dubai venues opened to the public on 31 October, 2016.
DPR’s Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Water Park, and Lapita Hotel will open on 15 November, while Motiongate Dubai will open on 16 December, according to the Dubai Government Media Office.
Legoland Dubai features more than 40 interactive rides, shows, attractions, and building experiences. The venue also boasts 15,000 Lego model structures, made from more than 50 million Lego bricks and spread across six themed lands.
Riverland Dubai, a multi-themed dining and retail destination located at the heart of DPR, will connect the development’s three theme parks and water parks.
Commenting on the commencement of the phased opening, Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, chief executive officer of DXB Entertainments, the owner of DPR, said: “Riverland Dubai and Legoland Dubai will be unveiled for the very first time and offer unique experiences and entertainments that I genuinely believe will set the bar in this region.
“Nothing of this magnitude has ever been done before and, after three years of hard work, it is a great honour to start to show our guests what we have achieved. As the largest entertainment destination in the region, Dubai Parks and Resorts will support the UAE’s tourism vision and grow the family leisure industry in the region.”
All of DPR’s venues are scheduled to open before the end of 2016.
