Construction on infrastructure work and widening of the Fujairah - Qidfa Road will begin early next year.

Plans have been adopted to expand three lanes, and construct tunnels and bridges on the Fujairah - Qidfa Road.

Plans were approved according to directives issues by H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, reported state news agency, WAM.

Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, general commander of Fujairah police, said that a company has been assigned to implement the project.

He also said that construction work will start early next year and will be completed over two years.

He said that the Fujairah ruler was briefed earlier about traffic congestion on the road and the expansion plans to ease traffic.

Al Kaabi added that Sheikh Hamad approved the plans and issued instructions in this respect.
