Damac FM arm receives energy certification

Damac Properties’ facilities management’s arm has achieved an official energy management certification, the company announced on Tuesday.
Following an audit by TÜV Middle East, Luxury Facilities Management (LFM) has received The ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management Certification.
The energy efficiency certification details requirements for implementing and improving energy management, while also adhering to a systematic approach in energy efficiency and consumption.
Ziad El Chaar - Managing Director, DAMAC Properties commented: “This certification demonstrates DAMAC’s commitment to compliance with the ISO 50001 standards, with the fundamental aim of improving the efficiency of energy management systems and decreasing the overall energy consumption and the associated environmental impact.
“Our diligent facilities management team actively worked towards gathering and analyzing energy data especially related to electricity, water and chilled water, and consequently achieved a reduction in energy consumption.”
The results were compiled to draw a site specific annual sustainability action plan that included set-points for chilled water systems, introduction of variable frequency drives (VFDs), LED lights, and motion sensors, among others.
