Big winners announced at the MEP Awards 2016
Sell out crowd turned up for the 10th anniversary of the MEP Middle East Awards
BK Gulf emerged as the big winners on a night of celebration at the MEP Middle East Awards in Dubai.
The MEP contractor collected four awards including: Mechanical Project of the Year (Dubai Opera), Mechanical Engineer of the Year (Alin Epure), Electrical Engineer of the Year (Abegail Habunal) and Plumbing Engineer of the Year (Muayyad Abu Khashabeh).
This year the MEP Miiddle East Awards, held on November 16, was celebrating its 10th anniversary.
On what was a sell out crowd at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, a total of 16 awards were handed out on the night.
Other multiple winners included Trans Gulf Electromechanical who were crowned MEP Contractor of the Year and also retained the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year from 2015.
ALEMCO bagged a brace of awards, with Severin Tenim named Young Engineer of the Year and general manager Nathan Hanns named MEP Executive of the Year.
Meanwhile, Black & White Engineering landed Electrical Project of the Year (Khazna Data Centres) and Project Manager of the Year with Jean-Pierre Hamal.
During the course of what was a lively event, other winners were: Future Metro - GCC Project of the Year (Lapita Hotel); SEMCO - Plumbing Project of the Year (Sila Community Hospital); Leminar Air Conditioning Company - Supplier of the Year; Atkins - MEP Consultancy of the Year; Arabian MEP - Retrofit Project of the Year (Athletes Village of 2004 Doha Asian Games retrofitted to Hamad Medical City); and Godwin Austen Johnson - Sustainable Project of the Year (Arcadia Preparatory School).
The night also saw a number of prizes up for grabs courtesy of Prize Giveaway Sponsor Gulf-O-Flex. Gaurav Bhatnagar of Armacell won a brunch for two at Dubai's Pier Chic and Nazih Al Sayed an iPhone 7.
The big prize of a seven-night Gulf cruise went to Rejil Kumar of Weathermaker Limited.
A record number of nominations were received this year, with winners and highly commended in each category chosen by our panel of 11 distinguished judges who deserve a huge thank you.
