Nathan Hanns of ALEMCO was named MEP Executive of the Year.

Hanns joined the MEP contractor in 2006, and as general manager, currently oversees 517 staff and 2,172 labour. He is credited with growing ALEMCO from a start-up business with a turnover of AED50m ($13.6m) to AED600m ($163.3m) forecast for this year.

In order to boost operational efficiency, Hanns has made BIM 3D software compulsory for each of its 95 draughtsman. Even if the project is designed in 2D by the engineering consultant, ALEMCO will transform that 2D design into a BIM 3D model.

Judges praised Hanns for having shown the ability to grow the company’s services and set it apart from the others in the “quality it delivers and the level of sustainability it achieves”.

One judge said: “Having taken the business through the toughest periods commercially , Hanns manages to stay connected with the projects which is an absolute rarity and also has time to act as mentor for the many graduates that ALEMCO take on each year.”
